Herceg-Novi is one of the most popular resorts of Montenegro. It is situated by the foot of the mountain-mass Orien. Near the town the mountains are very close to the seaside – that’s why there is extremely large number of different stairs in the town. Herceg- Novi is the city of gardens. Local botanic garden has been created during several ages and nowadays there are a lot of species of tropical and subtropical plants, including several species of mimosa. Annual mimosa festival takes place in Herceg-Novi each February.

Herceg-Novi was found more than 1500 years ago and numerous old relics and monuments of medieval architecture still remain here. The most known among them is the Orthodox monastery Savina of the XI century. The bastions Forte-Mare, Spaniola, Kanli-Kula, National Museum, ancient civil buildings – are also the places of interest.

A 7 km-long seaside promenade "Pet Danica" goes through the city, connecting Herceg-Novi with neighbour spa-centre Igalo. Many places for entertainment and relaxation are situated along the promenade.
