Tivat is a modern seaport town. It was a summer resting place for the Kotor's aristocracy in the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, very few architectural monuments from those days remain here. The Tower of the Buca family's Palace and the Church of St.Antun (the XIII-XIV centuries) are main of them.
Near Tivat in the sea, there is a small archipelago including islands - Prevlaka, St.Marco (old name - Stradioti Island), and Otok. At Prevlaka Island (another name Island of Flowers), there are remains of the Church of St.Michael (the IX century). At Otok Island there is the Jesus Society Monastery with Our Lady of Charity Church. The sea allows to enjoy water skiing during the whole season, since it is always very calm around these islands.
